Who is Kesuwon
Kesuwon was founded by Cleo Tjitrodipo. A certified and experienced massage therapist and teacher with over 10 years of professional experience in massage and bodywork. "Kesuwon " means
"gratitude" in Javanese
The practice of massage lies in Cleo’s nature and ancestry. Born in Surinam of Javanese and Malaccan descent, he grew up with the traditions of the different cultures in the Republic. In Javanese culture, the practices of Sufi / Islamic ceremonies were closely performed with the amalgam of Animistic, Hindu and Buddhist beliefs and practices. This tradition is called “Kejawen” in Javanese. As soon as a child can walk, it is gradually instructed in the ways of massaging (Pijat) by literally walking on the back of the grandparent(s). This is traditionally the way how knowledge is passed on from grandparent(s) to grandchild for generations. This was common in the whole of South-East Asia.
It was a logical step for Cleo to turn his talent into his profession.
He graduated at the “Akademie voor massage en beweging” in Amsterdam. There he learned a broad spectrum of massage and bodywork techniques such as: Esalen massage, Deep tissue, Rolfing, Pulsing, Trigger point and Joint movement. Later Cleo specialized in Traditional Thai Massage (Nuad Bo Rarn) and Ruesi Dat Ton (Ascetic self-stretches). He is experienced in treating Yoga teachers, Yoga practitioners and performers.
Cleo has also made his mark as a teacher, offering several workshops and courses in Thai massage, Deep tissue massage and Chair massage. In his lessons he draws on his background in Western kinetics and Eastern martial arts and dance.
With this background, Cleo hopes to one day be old and grey and still perform with agility in the arts of bodywork.

WHAT IS KESUWON
In Kesuwon Cleo Tjitrodipo regularly seeks cooperation with other therapists and teachers who have specialized in the field of bodywork. Therefore Kesuwon is a young collective of experienced and qualified professionals.
They all have transformed their passion and talent into their profession. From the industrial field, mechanical engineering, PR or theater work, they have made a switch. But of course they do not leave their past experiences for granted. they take them into practice and they also share it with others, in teaching and in their massages. This creates a great partnership where both therapists and clients can draw from.
We share a passion for Thai massage and also want to share that passion with others. We do this by giving massages, the dissemination of knowledge through workshops and courses, organizing events and joining festivals. Check: www.thaimassagecollective.nl and www.somaticpeople.nl
Kesuwon provides a wide range of workshops and courses. From short workshop to get acquainted with different forms, to courses as a certified massage therapist.
